2020 RON SHANE HR LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

We are excited to announce that Patricia Troy-Brooks will be honored this year with the Ron Shane HR Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Ron Shane HR Lifetime Achievement Award was established by State Council in 2002 to recognize individuals who have demonstrated a body of work and level of professionalism throughout their career.

We are excited to announce that Patricia Troy-Brooks will be honored this year with the Ron Shane HR Lifetime Achievement Award.

DEDICATION TO THE HUMAN RESOURCE PROFESSION

Pat has committed her career to the HR Profession as strong business partner in the temporary and contract businesses that support companies. She cares deeply for the underemployed and recently in addition to her work with DESHRM she set up Career seminars in partnership with the YWCA. She was also a liaison to President Obama’s Economic Recovery Workforce Advisory Board.

PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Pat has been recognized as Delaware Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration, Strong, Smart and Bold Award from Girls Inc., the NAAACP Freedom Fund Award and the NAACP Visionary Leadership Award. She has been featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer, Ebony, MBE Magazine, Enterprising Women’s Magazine, Essence. Black Enterprise, and Delaware’s News Journal. Her book, Your Job Search GPS™, Navigate to Your Career Destination in 10 steps has helped thousands of people regain employment, shift career paths, reinvent themselves, become entrepreneurs and learn vital skills on navigating the complexities of the 21st century workplace.

PROFESSIONAL INVOLVEMENT

Pat is on the board of directors for the United Way of Delaware and is the Human Resource committee chairperson. She serves on the board of TeenShop and chairs the Career development committee. She also serves on the board of SHRM (Society of Human Resource Managers) and is the chair of the College relations/Workforce readiness committee.

Pat has been actively involved with DESHRM, SHRM and Delaware State Council for many years advocating for the profession and connecting these organizations to others to collectively advocate for all Human Resources stands for and recommend her for the Ron Shane Life Time Achievement Award.
